Payment Methods

We accept Visa and MasterCard that are issued by a Canadian financial institution with a Canadian billing address.  Government Purchase Orders for orders over $1000 are accepted with prior approval, please email us for details.

We are unable to accept C.O.D. orders, Non-Government Purchase Orders or PayPal.    (Note: No uncertified cheques will be accepted.)

All prices are in Canadian dollars and do not include taxes.

Taxes
We're based in Nova Scotia.  As such, your order (items and shipping) is subject to applicable GST/HST based on delivery address as follows:

- 5% GST only for Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec, Prince Edward Island, Yukon, Nunavut and Northwest Territories
- 12% HST for British Columbia

- 13% HST for Ontario, New Brunswick and Newfoundland & Labrador
- 15% HST for Nova Scotia

Gifts
We are able to send your complete order to a Canadian address different from yours. We can also include a note with your personal message. (We are not currently able to giftwrap your purchase.)   Please indicate these special instructions upon checkout.  Gifts to different locations require separate orders. Sorry but we do not offer gift certificates or gift cards.

Backorders
In the event an item on your order is out of stock, we will ship it to you as soon as possible. We reserve the right to hold your order while waiting for a backordered item if we believe we can ship your order complete within a week of your order being placed. We also reserve the right to cancel backorders on items of low cost due to the high cost of shipping.  In the rare case of an extended delay, we will contact you for further instructions.

Heated Bird Baths & Bird Bath Heater Troubleshooting Tips

Of the few products returned to the manufacturer, less than one-third are actually found to be defective.  The most common issue is that your outlet has tripped the circuit breaker or the outlet is not properly grounded.  Don't let your birds be without water unnecessarily!  You can troubleshoot your product by performing this simple test as recommended by Nelson Manufacturing.

Since the bath or heater is thermostatically controlled, it will not turn on unless the temperature of the unit is 40F or below.  To test, place the unplugged unit in the freezer for thirty minutes.  Remove and plug directly into a 120V grounded outdoor outlet.  The unit should get hot or "turn on".    It will shut off in approximately sixty seconds.  If the unit passes the test, check to see that the extension cord and electrical outlet are functioning properly.  If you still have doubts please contact the manufacturer directly for service instructions(see contact numbers above).
