The 30" or garden weathervanes are specifically designed for mounting on smaller structures or for use in the garden. The 46" or full size weathervanes are well suited for homes, garages, or larger gazebos.  The further away the weathervane is, the smaller it will look.  Taller buildings look best with larger weathervanes.

The directionals (N-S-W-E) remain stationary at all times. It is the weathervane ornament that moves and points into the wind or from where the wind is blowing.
